Farmers’ Market Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Molasses Ginger Cookies<br> When I’m not busy running Glow Gluten Free, I work with Harvest Home, a NYC Farmers’ Market operating in East Harlem, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. Our mission is to bring local farm fresh produce to neighborhoods that need it most. All summer, our family enjoyed local produce from the markets and I included vegetables in every recipe imaginable. So what happens when you combine your favorite vegetables with your favorite cookie recipe? Delicious, healthy, “fresh-from-the-farm” cookies that you will snack on all day. Read the whole story.
Jill's List (Nov 22, 2010)
Nearly 1 in every 100 Americans are affected by Celiac disease, an auto immune disorder in which the intestines become damaged by eating gluten, the protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. In addition to those affected by Celiac disease, there are millions of other Americans who have a high intolerance to gluten. Gluten is found (and hidden) in many everyday foods, sauces and in most baked goods, as it provides the elasticity that makes the dough soft. Finding a good cookie can be tough! Jill Brack, Founder and CEO of Glow Gluten Free, shares her story on becoming gluten free and answering the need for tasty, gluten free baked goodies! Read the whole story.

The third annual Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure took place this past October 7th - 10th. This festival benefits two very worthy hunger relief organizations, The Food Bank of New York City and Share Our Strength. I had the great pleasure of hosting one event last Saturday morning called Milk and Cookies held at The New York Times Building. I was joined by many wonderful chefs from some of my favorite restaurants and bakeries, who shared a fabulous cookie assortment with the crowd. Milk was provided by The Manhattan Milk Company, which delivers old-fashioned glass bottles of local organic milk to Manhattan and Brooklyn. Read the whole story.
